Acworth, Georgia, is just one of the many suburban areas in metro Atlanta. Located 30 minutes from downtown Atlanta, Acworth is home to a vast array of residents. Downtown Acworth is full of history and great food, like Henry’s Louisiana Grille and Acworth Fish Camp. Acworth is also home to Cauble Park, which offers beautiful scenery.
 
The history aspect of Acworth is fascinating and has been around since the Civil War. It was initially named Andersonville and was burned down by General Sherman’s army during the Civil War in 1864. The train depot on Main Street was the only building left standing after the fire, and it is now known as the Acworth Train Museum. It was renamed Acworth after a similarly named town in New Hampshire, the hometown of Joseph L. Gregg, an engineer with the Western and Atlantic Railroad.
 
Acworth is known for its beautiful Lake Acworth and Acworth Beach, located on Lake Allatoona’s shores. The lake is an excellent place for fishing, swimming, and boating, and the beach has a playground, picnic pavilions, and sand volleyball courts.
