These numbers are quite a bit higher than Georgia averages, making the area more broadly classified as mid to upper-class. For those who prefer to start off in a rental, costs are also above average for Atlanta suburbs.
Neighborhoods in Marietta can range from downtown condo developments to large plantation-style homes on massive lots. You will find a wide variety of options to choose from that will fit any lifestyle. Certain areas on the east side of town are well suited for young families, while newlyweds and other couples may enjoy other areas on the west side.

And though the area gets little to no snow during the year, you will want to have an umbrella handy. Marietta averages about 52 inches of rain yearly, with partly cloudy days filling the sky most months.

The Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, in Marietta encompasses a preserved Civil War battlefield and offers many miles of scenic hiking trails with beautiful wildlife. Currently, the Mountain to River Trail is in construction, connecting Kennesaw Mountain starting at the National Battlefield Park with the Chattahoochee River National Recovery Area.
Over the past couple of decades, the Marietta restaurant scene has developed. Chef Doug Turbush is among Marietta’s top culinary talents, who has gone on to open Seed Kitchen & Bar in East Cobb, as well as Stem Wine Bar and Drift Fish House & Oyster Bar in Marietta. Seed is stylish with an internationally inspired menu, Stem specializes in wines by the glass and tapas, and Drift focuses on fish and oysters.
