Local Parks
Situated at 4770 North Peachtree Road, 45 acres, Brook Run Park is the largest park in not only Dunwoody but the region. This signature park features a large playground, 2.5-mile loop multi-use trail, a dog park, a community garden, and event pavilions. Dunwoody Senior Baseball is now proud to call Brook Run Park home. Parking for the baseball fields is located at the Peachtree Charter Middle School at 4664 N.
Dunwoody Community Garden and Orchard is more than just a place to be growing organic food; it is a place to be cultivating community. With each seed planted in the garden, fresh produce, healthy lifestyles, and eco-literacy will blossom. Run by the 501(c)(3) non-profit Dunwoody Community Garden at Brook Run Park, at least 20% of the produce is given to local charities.
The event area includes terraced seating, a level of open space, restrooms, and an upgraded pavilion (called the Great Lawn Pavilion) which seats 200. Home to community concerts and special events, this region can be reserved for many private functions. The Great Lawn Pavilion has 26 picnic tables and can accommodate approximately 200 seated.
The Brook Run Dog Park is two woodland acres for off-leash play. Nestled in the woods towards the back of Brook Run Park, the tree canopy provides shade coverage from the summer heat and mild rains. The Dog Park is entirely fenced and features multiple entry points with double gates for the safety of the dogs and their humans. The Brook Run Dog Park Association offers regular cleanup days and volunteer opportunities.
Consistently rated as a top park in the area, the playground and children’s adventure garden have clusters of bright play structures with shades above to shield from the sun on hot summer days. Playgrounds are separated for toddlers and older kids for easier play. They include slides and swings of different sizes, many sets of monkey bars, a multicolored tunnel, and a “log roll” for balance training.
Part of the Dunwoody Trailway, the trail around Brook Run Park is 1.8 miles in length and allows you to see all the park has to offer. Connect to Pernoshal Park and continue on to Georgetown Park via the trail connector in the back of park. Completing both the Brook Run Park and Pernoshal Park trails equals that of a 5K.
